What you need to know
- The OnePlus 13R appears to have been leaked in just two color options ahead of its January 7 launch.
- The leaked renders show the OnePlus 13R in impressive detail, revealing almost every angle of the unreleased device.
- The renders confirm that the OnePlus 13R will be largely similar to the OnePlus Ace 5, with some minor differences.
Ahead of the OnePlus 13R’s official launch scheduled for January 7, 2025, a massive leak has revealed renders showing the upcoming mid-range smartphone from all angles. Images shared Arsene Lupine on X (formerly Twitter) and show off what appears to be the only two colorways of the OnePlus 13R (via GSMArena). While the official names of each color option are unknown, they appear to be Silver and Space Gray versions.
OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus 13R for a few weeks now and has revealed some information about the device. However, we don’t know as much about the OnePlus 13R as OnePlus 13which is already available in China. Instead, the OnePlus 13R will most likely be a global version of the OnePlus Ace 5. That said, some already known differences – such as a smaller battery capacity – prove that the OnePlus 13R is not a perfect rebranding of the Ace 5.
Previously, OnePlus had only shared a mysterious zoomed-in image of the camera bump and rear of the OnePlus 13R. This is the first time we’ve seen a full look of the OnePlus 13R, if these leaked renders are indeed accurate. This represents a significant design change for OnePlus’ mid-range phone. OnePlus 12R had a thin, curved design that was abandoned in favor of a square and rectangular look.
The display and back appear flat, marking a long overdue shift from OnePlus’ curved screens. The entire smartphone market is moving in this direction, with Samsung, Google and Apple releasing phones with rectangular bodies.
Otherwise, the OnePlus 13R looks like it will retain a few core OnePlus features – as expected. To begin with, the rear panel has a circular camera bump and an engraved OnePlus logo. You also get a OnePlus alert slider and a physical SIM tray.
Apart from these leaks, OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus 13R will have a slim form factor and a 6,000mAh battery. Additionally, an early Amazon listing revealed that it will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. To know more about OnePlus 13R, you need to look out for the launch on January 7, 2025..
