Additional Airlines Add Support for Apple’s Find My for Lost Luggage Feature

Several airlines implemented support for the new iOS 18.2 this week looking for mine Item location sharing function, including British Airways, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus, etc.

As of now, 14 airlines have customer support agreements to locate lost luggage through the new “Find My” feature. The full list includes the following airlines: United, Delta, British Airways, Lufthansa Airlines, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Turkish Airlines, Aer Lingus, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Eurowings and Iberia.

After updating to iOS 18.2, the new “Share Item Location” feature allows you to create a link that someone can see when they open a lost item. Links can be opened on non-Apple devices using a web browser, so have iPhone, iPador your Mac can help you find lost items, like luggage.

The Find My link you share will expire in one week, and you can see how many people have viewed it. Shared links will stop working when the item is returned to you, the link sharing date expires, or you choose to stop sharing the item’s location. Shared item locations are end-to-end encrypted and anonymous, so Apple and accessory manufacturers cannot view the item’s location or information.

Apple has partnered with airlines to add support for sharing the location of items, and airline staff using the feature know how to return lost items to their owners using the Find My feature.

Other airlines are planning to increase support, including Qantas, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines and KLM.
