AMD to Launch Mid-range SKUs of the Radeon RX 9000 Series in March

AMD is expected to have a fairly lean lineup of next-generation gaming GPUs based on the RDNA 4 graphics architecture. The series is expected to debut at AMD’s 2025 CES keynote, with the series-leading GPUs to be revealed later this month Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 in the performance segment. The RX 9070 should be available by the end of January, although add-on partners in China expect availability to increase in February 2025. The series will be expanded with new announcements in March.

The RDNA 4 generation is driven mainly by two chips – the larger “Navi 48” and the smaller “Navi 44”. “Navi 48” will be used in the RX 9070 series, which belongs to the performance segment and is designed to compete with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 series; but stripped-down variants of the chip are also expected to be used in some upper-mid-range SKUs that compete with the RTX 5060 series. The Navi 44 chip is expected to be used in some high-end and low-cost mid-range models, which AMD will use to reach the price point below 300 dollars. This segment is expected to heat up as NVIDIA has the current generation RTX 4060 series, Intel just made a move with the Arc B580 and is expected to release a faster Arc B700 series SKU based on the max powered BMG-G21. silicon.
