Android Auto is stuck on mute for some Pixel users

  • Android Auto has stopped outputting information for some Pixel users.
  • This problem seems to occur after installing December Pixel Drop.
  • Both wired and wireless connections appear to be affected.

If you haven’t used it yet Android Auto Now that you have your car, what are you waiting for? We’re big fans of Google’s solutions for letting our favorite apps and services work seamlessly with our vehicles, providing convenient dashboard access to maps, our favorite music, and more. Of course, the flip side of liking something so much is that you feel a stronger tingle when you like something. Android Auto not workingwhich is exactly what many users are in right now.

Android Auto user base is small but growing Google’s support forum Share a report of missing audio output after installing a new version December Pixel Drop on their mobile phones (via 9t05Google). Apparently, they all run Pixel phones, and the issue has been found in models from the Pixel 6 to Pixel 9 series.

For affected users, the system visually appears to be working fine, and when you try to play music using apps like Spotify, the screen shows everything is fine. But for some reason, no sound comes from the car speakers. Resetting all involved systems does not seem to resolve the issue, and the issue appears to persist across both wireless and USB Android Auto connections.

While frustrating, this kind of glitch is by no means unprecedented. We also saw a lot of Android Auto users encounter headaches this time last year, and it was only Android 14. It’s a rodeo that Google has been through. Hopefully we’ll see the company figure out the source of this unexpected silence soon and let Android Auto users play music again.
