Anthropic’s Claude and Panasonic team up to improve family time
Panasonic and anthropic team up to release AI-powered family health coaching app called Umi, the electronics manufacturer announced during CES 2025.
Umi is reportedly designed to help family members “care for, coordinate and communicate” with each other, as well as help the family as a whole set goals, such as eating lunch together or being more physically active, creating daily routines and managing general affairs. tasks. Users set these goals through the app’s natural language voice interface.
Panasonic is reportedly targeting the app at families of all ages. During its CES demo on Tuesday, the company was quick to point out that Umi can easily be used to keep caregivers informed about the habits, comings and goings of older family members. Claude will not provide advice on its own, as Panasonic plans to use a wide range of health experts to help users establish and maintain healthy habits and routines.
Umi is scheduled to be released in the US later in 2025. Panasonic is making the app available to other members of its Panasonic Well partner team, including Aaptiv, Precision Nutrition, SleepScore Labs, Addition Wealth, BlueApron and Calm, so we may soon see the power of artificial intelligence manifest in related products as well. The electronics company also plans to integrate Claude into its other customer systems, such as customer service, sales and marketing.
Panasonic also unveiled its new “Panasonic Go” initiative, which will accelerate “AI-driven innovation” within the company. The firm expects that by 2030, 30% of its revenue will come from “artificial intelligence-based hardware, software and solutions businesses.”
