Apple CEO Tim Cook Hosts King Charles III at UK Headquarters
as part of his ongoing visit ukCEO of Apple Inc. Tim Cook Hosted yesterday His Majesty King Charles III’s headquarters at Battersea Power Station.
During his visit, Cook welcomed King Charles to Apple’s campus at the iconic Battersea Power Station, a historic building that was recently restored to become the home of Apple’s UK operations 2023. The conversion of Battersea Power Station into Apple’s UK headquarters marks a major step forward for the company’s operations in London. Once a coal-fired power station designed to supply electricity to west London, the historic building has been transformed from a derelict building into a modern office park with space for more than 1,400 employees.
The King toured the facility and met with Apple employees, students from local schools and members of the UK creative community. The visit included a showcase of Apple’s education initiatives in partnership with British non-profit organization The King’s Trust, which focuses on providing educational opportunities and skills development for young people.
Young people from the charity showcased coding projects they had developed using Apple tools and resources. Children from nearby St George’s Primary School also got involved, creating festive-themed artwork on iPads which was then projected onto the iconic chimney of Battersea Power Station.
We are honored to welcome His Majesty King Charles to Apple Battersea, our home in the UK, and we are proud to support the King’s Trust in their important work of educating and empowering young people. We look forward to building on our 40+ year history in the UK.
The event concludes with a community-focused holiday concert by award-winning British musician RAYE in the Atrium of Battersea Power Station. Cook also presented King Charles with an etched plaque to commemorate his visit.
Apple’s partnership with the UK creative industry is also highlighted by its recent partnership with Aardman, the acclaimed animation studio behind super invincible boss dog. Two entities collaborated to create a stop-motion animation using iPhone 16 Pro Max’s photography system. Short film begins screening on the chimney of Battersea Power Station earlier this month.
