BloombergMark Gurman of Apple recently reported that Apple is Developing own Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips will debut New Apple TV and HomePod mini to be launched next year. The report raised hopes that Apple might also use the chip to revive its line of AirPort routers, which have Discontinued in 2018but these dreams were dashed by Gurman himself.

in his Power on Today’s newsletterThe well-connected reporter said Apple is “not” developing a new AirPort router at the moment.

Gurman does offer a glimmer of hope. He said Apple’s in-house Wi-Fi chips are “very sophisticated” and could “theoretically” turn future home devices like Apple TV or HomePod into wireless access points. However, he did not confirm whether Apple will actually implement this idea, so don’t expect too much just yet.
