Today, Apple received nine nominations across four projects at the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards, with top category nominations including Best Motion Picture – Drama for darkly humorous spy series “Slow Horse” and critically acclaimed thriller “Exemption” “Disclaimer” for Best Limited Series, as well as nominations for outstanding performances. Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden in “Slow Horse”; Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in “Disclaimer”; Jason Shee G and Harrison Ford in “Downsizing”; and Jack Gyllenhaal in “Presumed Innocent.” Winners will be announced on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
In addition to being nominated for Best Television Series and Drama Series, the Emmy-winning hit “Slow Horse” also won Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Performance for its star, Oldman, his second win in the category for “Slow Horse.” Nominated for a Golden Globe Award, in addition to winning the award for Best Performance in a Performance. Following their Emmy and BAFTA wins for their performances as the beloved, curmudgeonly Jackson Lamb (Oldman) and Slough Manor favorite River Cartwright (Lowden) Following its Academy Award nomination, the show also received numerous other honors.
Alfonso Cuaron’s acclaimed thriller Disclaimer earns Academy Award-winning stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, who star in the gripping drama, both Best Performance by an Actor and a Limited Series Nomination. Starring Catherine Ravenscroft and her nemesis Stephen Bristow. The nominations follow four recent Critics’ Choice Award nominations, including Best Limited Series and Best Performance by Blanchett, Crane and Leila George.
The acclaimed hit comedy “Shrinking” earned star Jason Segal a nomination for Best Performance by a Musical or Comedy, his second Golden Globe win for his performance as Jimmy in the series, while Harrison Ford was nominated for “Shrinking.” Nominated for Best Supporting Actor. This is the latest honor for the show, following numerous awards including Emmys, Critics’ Choice Awards, and the WGA.
Jake Gyllenhaal’s Rusty Sabich in Apple’s acclaimed “Presumed Innocent” won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series after co-star Ruth Ruth Negga was recently nominated for a Film Independent Spirit Award.
Apple TV+ won its first Golden Globe Award in 2021, when Jason Sudeikis wins best comedian award As Ted Russo. Since then, Apple Originals have received an impressive 2,402 nominations and 535 wins.
