In some U.S. states, residents can Add your driver’s license or state ID card to the Wallet app On iPhone and Apple Watch, offers a convenient, contactless way to display proof of identity or age at select airports and businesses, and in select apps.

Below, we’ve outlined which states and territories in the U.S. offer the feature, as well as other states that have committed to rolling it out in the future. 2025 has just begun, and many of the states listed below will likely roll out the feature throughout the year.

Apple says travelers should refer to TSA checkpoint markings to confirm the feature’s availability, and The TSA website has more details.

In addition to participating in TSA checkpoints, Apple also announced in September that users will soon be able to show their Apple Wallet ID at the airport to sign up for CLEAR membership. Apple Wallet IDs can also be used to display proof of age or identification at certain businesses and locations in the United States, although Apple does not keep a list of specific locations for this purpose.
