Apple Sports app gets four new features, including Live Activity scheduling
Apple Sports Launched earlier this year As a dedicated application for iPhone users to track their sports. It is updated regularly throughout the year, and the new version launching today adds four key new features.
Four new features in latest Apple Sports update
Today, Apple released version 2.3 of Apple Sports, which may be the last noteworthy update of the year. This is a particularly good one.
Here are Apple’s update release notes:
- The league standings now include a way to track which teams have qualified for the playoffs and which teams have been eliminated.
- Quickly understand the scoring plays and important moments in the game with Crucial Plays, a new Play-by-Play tab.
- Football and baseball game pages now include pregame lineups when available.
- Schedule an instant event for any game on the Today tab to automatically get an instant scorecard on the lock screen when the event starts.
None of these additions are huge game-changers, but each provides meaningful utility for sports fans and makes the Apple Sports app better than ever.
9to5Mac’s Opinion
I particularly like the instant event scheduling feature. Having the opportunity to open the app at any time of the day and decide ahead of time which games I want to focus on via live activity is a nice upgrade.
Other changes are evident, too. Knowing whether a team makes the playoffs or is eliminated is a question fans often ask, and “clutch games” sound like a great way to quickly digest the most important aspects of a game as you catch up. time.
I’m curious if Key Plays has anything to do with the Apple TV app catch-up function Made its debut not too long ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if both apps use the same core data.
