Apple spring event 2025: Expected date, time and new product rumors
Expectations are high that Apple is planning a series new product releases spring 2025, but will the company hold a spring event, and if so, when will Apple’s spring event take place?
Apple doesn’t always hold spring events, but when they do, it’s usually in March or April. However, in 2024, when we had almost given up hope of a spring event, Apple surprised us by sending out invitations to the event on May 7th.
In this article, we explain what you need to know about Apple’s spring event, including when it might take place, how to watch it, and what products you can expect.
Will Apple hold a spring event in 2025?
Over the past ten years, Apple has held seven spring events, excluding 2023, 2020, and 2017 (and 2020 would undoubtedly have had one if not for the pandemic).
Apple’s spring event is one of three or four major events in Apple’s annual announcement cycle. There are big iPhone/Mac software announcements at WWDC in the summer, iPhone launches in September, sometimes we see Apple make Mac and iPad announcements in October or November, and (most years) we get hardware announcements at the spring event in March . or April. At these events, Apple executives take the stage (real or virtual) and brag about some of their recent successes before revealing what new products they’re about to release. For more information on Apple’s events calendar, read When is the next Apple event?
But will there be an event in the spring of 2025? In 2024, the second fall event did not happen, and instead Apple decided to issue press releases regarding the MacBook, iMac and Mac mini M4 series. These announcements could certainly have been made at an event if Apple had wished: the new M4 Pro and M4 Max were worthy of attention, as was the new Mac mini design. But Apple stopped distributing press releases for a few days.
Could this be the start of a trend to avoid the immediacy of an event, with smaller news items being overshadowed by larger stories in favor of a more controlled and phased release? Probably not, although such a release might be better suited to Macs, which don’t generate the same amount of interest as the iPhone.
With an iPhone-related release possibly coming in the spring, we think Apple might host an event. The new iPhone SE is expected to be released during this period, and Apple will likely want to attract as much attention as possible to this iPhone and its support. Apple Intelligence. (Here how to get Apple Intelligence on your iPhone if you have a compatible model.)
When is Apple’s Spring 2025 event?
We don’t yet know when (or if) Apple’s event will take place this spring. But we can make some educated guesses based on when this event was held in the past, as well as other events happening around the same time.
It’s typical for Apple to hold events (other than WWDC) on Tuesday or Wednesday.
If Apple holds an event on March 11, 18, or 25, it could start selling new products before the end of the second quarter on March 30.
Alternatively, if Apple waits until April, we wouldn’t expect the event to happen too close to the Easter deadline, so the most likely dates would be April 8 or April 29.
Apple held its spring event on the following dates:
- 2024: Tuesday, May 7: (Let It Go): iPad Pro M4 11 and 14 inches, iPad Air M2 11 and 14 inches, Apple Pencil Pro
- 2023: no events
- 2022 Tuesday, March 8: (Peek Performance Virtual): New iPhone SE, new iPad Air, Mac Studio and Studio Display, plus new iPhone color options.

- 2015, Monday, March 9: (“Spring Ahead”): Apple Watch, new MacBook and iOS 8.2.
- 2014: no events
- 2013: no events

What will Apple announce at its spring event?
We’ve mentioned the iPhone SE a couple of times, but there are other Apple products that need an update:
M4 MacBook Air
MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini already have M4 chips, so it’s time to upgrade your MacBook Air to M4. More details here: MacBook Air M4 Rumors.
iPad 11th generation
The 10th generation iPad was released back in October 2022 and is the only model that doesn’t support Apple Intelligence, so an upgrade to the same A17 Pro chip as the iPad mini seems likely. See: 11th Generation iPad Rumors.
iPhone SE
The new iPhone SE is expected to support Apple Intelligence, meaning we’ll see a leap in processor that will take it beyond the iPhone 14 and 15 models still on sale. There are rumors that it will be called iPhone 16 SE. Read: iPhone SE rumors.
Other new products
We could also see some updates to home products. There have been rumors about a faster version of the Apple TV. HomePod with screenor a product that combines these two products.
We’ll probably wait until WWDC in June to Mac Pro And Mac Studio Updates.
What is the spring event slogan and what does it mean?
When Apple announces the tagline for its Spring 2025 event, there will be a lot of speculation as to what it could mean for product announcements.
The slogan for the May 2024 event was “Let Loose,” a phrase that suggested freedom and the idea that creativity would be set free. The image accompanying the invitation was a drawing of an Apple Pencil. So when the new iPad line and the new Apple Pencil were released, it wasn’t a real surprise.
With the iPhone expected to be announced, a tagline regarding the iPhone and artificial intelligence seems likely.
How to watch Apple’s spring event live
The best way to watch is to be invited to attend in person, but most of us won’t be so lucky. Luckily, Apple will also be live-streaming the presentation so everyone can watch.
The first place to try is right at the top of this article, where we’ll embed Apple’s YouTube broadcast. You can also look at Apple Events Pagewhich will broadcast live in the evening. Indeed, the main one Apple.com The home page usually shows the presentation as it’s happening.
If you have an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Mac (as long as the software on your device is up-to-date), you can watch the broadcast in the TV app. PC owners can also watch, but will need to visit Apple’s website as mentioned above.
After the event is completed, it can also be viewed in Podcasts and TV applications, as well as on Apple website.
Finally, Apple has streamed some events at Apple Stores in the past, so it might be worth checking with your local store to see if they have anything planned.

What happens at the Apple event?
Like most tech startup events, it will include both fluff and content. Expect some tiresome bragging at first; this could cover topics such as operating system adoption rates, hardware buyer feedback, and green manufacturing policies. But Apple wouldn’t hold the event unless there was something noteworthy, and we should make the appropriate announcements within 10 minutes or so.
Typically, you can expect several separate announcements at an Apple event.
