Apple TV+ has three festive, must-see titles for the holiday season
The holidays are here, and Apple TV+ offers a variety of shows to lift your spirits. I highly recommend the following three must-see holiday specials: one is a movie, another is a fun short film based on a beloved property, and finally a TV classic.
Full of energy
Ryan Reynolds is one of the biggest stars currently working in Hollywood. Recently he was on a popular show Deadpool and Wolverinebut did you know Reynolds also stars in Apple TV+’s holiday musical comedy?
Full of energy In my opinion, this is a modern Christmas classic. Reynolds’ pairing with Will Ferrell brings new twist to Charles Dickens’ work Christmas carols. Even if you think you’ve seen too many Scrooge movies in your life, Spirited Away is well worth your time.
Here’s Apple’s summary:
Every Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) chooses a dark soul and transforms him through visits from three souls. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turned the tables on the Ghost Master, only to now find himself reexamining his past, present and future. A Christmas Carol is the first hilarious musical telling of Dickens’ classic story from the ghost’s perspective.
If you’re really against musicals, maybe Full of energy Won’t suit you. But the music here is particularly nice, from the duo behind la la land, greatest performer, etc.
Full of energy yes Now available Exclusively for Apple TV+ users.
Ted Russo: The Missing Christmas Beard
Apple TV+’s classic series Ted Lasso has created a fun claymation short just for the holidays.
Ted Russo: The Missing Christmas Beard It’s less than five minutes long, but it’s a fun way to celebrate the Christmas tradition of claymation classics like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
From the team that brought back Goodwill, Ted Russo: The Missing Christmas Beard is a stop-motion short film featuring the voices of a beloved cast who help Ted search for a missing item that ultimately leads him to realize what’s inside The meaning of the holiday season. This holiday short film stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brandon Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Starring Dunst and Nick Muhammad.
Apple has made a short film Available for free on YouTubeso you don’t even need a TV+ subscription.
However, if you’re an Apple TV+ subscriber, I also recommend rewatching some of Lasso’s holiday episodes and watching the adorable Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas.
charlie brown’s christmas
Nearly the entire Apple TV+ library is made up of original content, but “Peanuts” is one of the very few TV+ content that isn’t an Apple original.
apple have has produced its own new Peanuts content, but it has also licensed various classic TV specials and made them available to Apple TV+ subscribers.
charlie brown’s christmas It probably needs no introduction from me, as many families watch it every year. But if you want a summary of the show, here it is:
In this beloved Peanuts special, Lucy becomes frustrated with the commercialization of Christmas and hires Charlie Brown to be the director of the group’s holiday drama. Can he overcome his friends’ preference for dancing over acting, find the “perfect” Christmas tree and discover the true meaning of Christmas?
