Apple Watch Sleep Apnea Notifications Now Available in Brazil
Apple today declare It is understood that Apple Watch’s feature to help identify sleep apnea is now available in Brazil after receiving permission from Brazilian health regulators.
This feature is now available More than 150 countries and regionsused the Apple Watch’s accelerometer to record wrist movements associated with disruptions in normal breathing patterns during sleep.
Based on the data collected, the feature evaluates whether your breathing impairment levels are increasing every day, and if it is determined that your breathing impairment is increasing at a threshold within 30 days, you will receive notifications of possible breathing impairments. This notification is not a diagnosis, but it does provide information to help you discuss the situation with your health care provider.
The algorithm uses machine learning trained on clinically validated sleep data, and then Apple’s functionality is validated in its own systems clinical researchfound that 100% of study participants who received a positive result from the algorithm indeed had at least mild sleep apnea.
