Ubiquiti launches latest Enterprise Wi-Fi 7 lineupa series of advanced access points designed to deliver unparalleled wireless performance for enterprise environments. These access points support tri-band Wi-Fi 7 and are designed to simplify high-density connections.

A closer look at the lineup:

  • Enterprise No. 7: The product provides up to 2,000 square feet of coverage with 10-stream Wi-Fi 7 capabilities and supports more than 1,000 devices to meet demanding networks.
  • Enterprise 7 Campus: It’s rugged, has an IP67 rating and PRISM™ RF filtering for use in environments with high interference, making it ideal for campus or outdoor use.
  • Enterprise 7 Audience: Targeted at high-density venues such as stadiums and large stadiums, it features 12 spatial streams, customizable beamwidth, and IP68 durability for up to 1,500 connected devices. It should be reminded here that water will attenuate radio frequency signals, and humans are composed of a lot of water.

Main features:

  • 6 GHz extended range mode: Extend performance over a wide range while ensuring reliability.
  • 10 GbE PoE++ uplink: Ensure high-speed connectivity and redundancy with additional GbE ports.

What about Apple?

Apple’s iPhone 16 series currently supports Wi-Fi 7, taking advantage of the technology’s increased speed and reduced latency. However, the latest Macs equipped with M4 chips, such as MacBook Pro and iMac, still use WiFi 6E. One thing to remember about the iPhone 16 implementation is that the maximum channel bandwidth is 160MHz, not the full 320MHz that Wi-Fi 7 can support. This disparity highlights the early adoption phase of Wi-Fi 7, as the infrastructure and practical benefits for most users are still evolving and the technology is being built around it.

9to5Mac’s Opinion

WiFi 7 is still in its early stages, but it promises to be the next big leap in wireless technology. Ubiquiti’s new line of enterprise access points are ideal for environments that require reliability and performance, such as stadiums and large campuses. On the Apple side, interestingly, the iPhone 16 will soon support Wi-Fi 7, but not on the Mac yet. The slower launch of the Mac could be a sign that Apple is waiting for wider adoption or more tangible benefits for desktop users. As Wi-Fi 7 routers become mainstream, we’ll likely see its presence in Apple’s product line grow, but personally, I’d rather see it on Macs this year.
