Apple’s launching three new Home products next year, here’s what’s coming

The year is coming to an end, and Apple plans to make a big push into home products in 2025. Here are three home devices expected to launch in the new year.

New “HomePad” device

Perhaps the most exciting new home product of 2025 is Apple’s currently unnamed “HomePad” device.

Reported by Mark Gurman:

Apple… is about to launch a new product category: a wall-mounted monitor that can control appliances, handle video conferencing and use artificial intelligence to navigate apps… The device has a roughly 6-inch screen and looks like a square iPad. It’s about the same size as two iPhones side by side, with thicker edges surrounding the display. There is also a camera, rechargeable built-in battery, and built-in speakers on the top front.

Some of HomePad’s core features are expected to include:

• Upgraded Siri focuses on Apple Intelligence
• Standby-like widgets, home app controls, and more
• Slideshow in Photos app
• Built-in security camera and video/audio intercom and FaceTime
• Run Apple apps like Safari, Music, and Notes

Gurman reports that the HomePad is expected to launch in March, while Ming-Chi Kuo believes it will launch later this year. Regardless, Apple’s new home device category is expected to arrive in 2025.

New Apple TV 4K

It’s been a few years since the last Apple TV 4K debuted, and Apple is planning to launch one new version 2025.

Details about the revised Apple TV 4K are scarce, but at least we expect:

• Apple Intelligence Support
• AI-enabled A18 or A17 Pro chip
• New internal Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip

Apple may also provide support for newer TV display technologies. But aside from these features, the new Apple TV 4K is likely to maintain the same basic form factor and operating system as the existing hardware.

HomePod Mini 2

The large HomePod is already in its second generation, but HomePod mini is still the first-generation version launched in 2020.

But by 2025, we get The first HomePod mini 2.

We don’t know much about the new HomePod mini other than a launch window and Apple’s new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips.

Apple may find a way Brings comprehensive Apple Intelligence support to the device. I hope this does happen.

But the company could also take a different approach and integrate HomePod mini 2 more tightly with other devices like an iPhone or HomePad. Essentially, it will continue to focus on being an affordable smart speaker, but get some smarts from nearby devices. More details about the HomePod mini 2 are expected to leak in the coming months.
