ASRock Unleashes Custom Radeon RX 9070 XT & 9070 GPUs at CES 2025
ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi is a very long and massive offering: TPU photos show a three-slot design, continuing the legacy Taichi’s previous projects. ASRock has updated its custom shrouds and backplates for the 4th generation RDNA – the new RX 9070 XT Taichi is quite boxy compared to its big brother. The gear image on the back appears more prominent due to the updated coloring and contrast. There’s the usual Taichi three-fan configuration here, with a smattering of RGB lighting strips scattered throughout the shroud. Performance and quiet modes can be accessed via the rear shifter. Another switch, located next to the card’s single 12-pin power connector, gives you the ability to turn the built-in LED lighting on or off.
The newly revealed Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend card appears to have the same casing design as the recently launched ASRock card. Intel Arc “Battlemage” B580 Steel Legend OC model. The AMD Radeon-based version doesn’t offer any big surprises – here we see a standard white-themed design, equipped with a cooling system with three fans. The top of the shroud features RGB strip lighting that highlights the signature Steel Legend text. Three transparent plastic fans are also visually complemented by RGB lighting zones. This light show can be turned on and off using a switch located next to the card’s two 8-pin power connectors. There is also an ARGB connector nearby. TechPowerUp was unveiled with the ASRock Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) Challenger – this new triple-fan design looks rather subdued compared to its louder companion models. A single strip of RGB lighting dominates the corner of the mostly black and gray casing. This Challenger card appears to have a thinner profile, hinting at a possible dual-slot design. The Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) Steel Legend was also on display next to its XT sibling:
