- Asus’ latest monitor comes with a kit that mounts a mini PC on the back
- There’s also a slot for a smartphone, and an integrated USB hub
- Sadly, it’s not a 4K monitor, just a Full HD+ monitor
as mini computer are becoming more and more powerful, offering compact designs and abundant ports, they provide a versatile solution for users who need a powerful setup but don’t necessarily have a workspace dedicated to a traditional desktop computer.
Recognizing this trend, ASUS has launched two 24-inch monitors: BE248CFN and BE248QFthey are designed to house these tiny wonders. Each monitor includes a mounting kit that securely attaches the mini PC to the back of the stand, closer to the base for easier access.
Both monitors also offer other useful features, including a groove in the base that you can use to store your smartphone. There is also an integrated USB hub for users to manage multiple devices.
Too bad it’s not 4K
Both models offer ergonomic adjustments to suit different viewing preferences. The stand supports -5 to 35-degree tilt, 180-degree left and right rotation, 90-degree rotation in either direction, and 130mm of height adjustment. The IPS panel offers 178-degree wide viewing angles and 16.7 million colors, with a response time of 5 milliseconds, a brightness of 350cd/m², and a contrast ratio of 3,000:1.
Disappointingly, the display resolution of both screens is Full HD+ (1,920 x 1,200) instead of 4K Upward, this may limit their appeal to people who need higher detail or clearer visuals, such as content creators or people who like to have a lot of windows open on their screen at the same time.
Connectivity differs slightly between the two models. BE248CFN includes HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.4, USB Type-C with 96W power delivery, four-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub, and Gigabit Ethernet. BE248QF adds a mini D-Sub 15-pin connector to meet the needs of users using traditional hardware.
Both monitors feature 2W stereo speakers and ASUS Eye Care technologies such as flicker-free and low blue light, which will make them comfortable to use during long work sessions.
There’s no word yet on pricing or global availability, but they should go on sale in Japan soon and are then expected to make their way to other countries.
