AT&T FirstNet subscribers are getting a $3 price increase for the New Year

TL;DR
- FirstNet appears to be the first mobile service to raise prices for 2025, as its price will increase by $3 starting January 15th.
- It appears that this increase was not publicly announced, although users did notice a notice about the increase in their bills.
- Even with growth, FirstNet is hard to beat. FirstNet, powered by AT&T, is designed to provide first responders with high-quality, high-priority services for use in emergency situations and beyond.
Mobile customers are already accustomed to the fact that mobile tariffs are gradually increasing. Over the past few years, not only have the advertised price of postpaid services increased significantly, but telecom operators have even started collecting money from customers through the infrastructure fees they charge without any restrictions. any warning other than a small notice on your bill. Typically larger changes to plans are announced more openly, but that doesn’t seem to always be the case, at least for AT&T-backed FirstNet.
Reddit user CustomerNo6626 noted the bottom Their bill states that their FirstLine plan would include a “price increase of $3 per month beginning January 15, 2025.” Other customers have since confirmed that they are also seeing an increase.
While I realize this is only a $3 increase, it’s a pretty significant increase compared to the $0.20 to $0.40 fee increases that typically sneak into bills this way. At the very least, I think increases greater than $1 should be announced through multiple efforts, including text messages and email. It actually seems tricky to add billing increases as a small concept to what is often a multi-page bill.
How do you feel about the increase being announced only in your bill?

Honestly, even with the increase from $45 to $48, if you’re a first responder who needs reliable service with truly priority data, it’s hard to beat FirstNet’s quality of service. The bigger problem is that all carriers keep increasing bills without much warning, hoping people won’t notice. I personally think this needs to stop.
