Bayonetta developer PlatinumGames reportedly said goodbye to several veterans (including Hideki Kamiya) last year.

Now, in another studio update, it has been confirmed Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon Director Abebe Tinari also left. According to his LinkedIn, he has switched to Housemarque PlayStation (Returnable) as lead game designer.

He worked at PlatinumGames for over ten years and also worked on games such as Star Fox Guard (including system design, enemy design, and user interface specification) and Bayonetta 2 (localization) for Wii U.

This update follows last month’s news about Tinari deleted mentions of PlatinumGames on social networks. At the time, he also confirmed rumors that some “directors are leaving PlatinumGames” by mentioning that “games are not created by one person” and signed off as follows:

“There are still many talented artists, designers, programmers and musicians at PlatinumGames. I suggest you don’t discount them just yet. I can’t wait to see what they do next!”

Bayonetta Origins was released exclusively on Switch in 2023 and is a storybook-style adventure game that serves as a prequel to the main trilogy.

In other Platinum news, the developer announced yesterday that it will be holding a year-long event dedicated to the original Bayonetta to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya left the studio last year, announcing that he was working on a new project. Eyes game in collaboration with Capcom.
