At the Brussels Motor Show, Renault presented the interior of the Twingo E-Tech electric prototype. This show car offers a glimpse into the design direction of the upcoming production model, which is expected to hit showrooms in 2026.
The interior pays homage to the spacious and functional layout of the first generation Twingo, but includes modern features and eco-friendly materials.
The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype boasts a bright and airy cabin with a distinctive cylindrical instrument panel, says Renault. This modern design element contains 7-inch digital instrument panel and 10.1-inch central touchscreen. infotainment system.
A nod to the original Twingo can be seen in the red hazard warning button located in a translucent bubble, reminiscent of the earlier model. Usability is key, with easy-to-access storage compartments located under the dash between the front seats, as well as flat storage space that spans the entire width of the cabin.
Showcasing Renault’s use of innovative materials, the cabin floor is made from tinted cork, a durable and environmentally friendly material, and the rear seat folds into two 50/50 sections, allowing for different cargo configurations and passenger legroom to be adjusted.
The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype prioritizes convenience and enjoyment for all passengers, says the manufacturer. Clever details include a magnetic area on the front headrests that allows rear passengers to secure their phones, as well as an elastic strap that doubles as a map pocket and water bottle holder.
First presented at the Paris Motor Show, Twingo E-Tech electric prototype pays homage to the compact city car design of the original Twingo. Modern details and curved lines define its playful character. Expressive LED headlights and striking Twingo lettering on the tailgate reinterpret the Twingo spirit for a new era of electric mobility.
Expected to go into production in 2026, the Twingo will join the ranks of other electric vehicles in the Renault E-Tech range including the Renault 5, Renault 4, Megane and Scenic.
