The third series of Traitors is currently capturing the UK’s television attention and fans will be delighted to hear that a brand new celebrity version of the show is officially in development.
The project was first reported by the portal Deadline in April 2024, and the series was officially announced by the creators back in August 2024.
The British version of the show has become one of the biggest television hits of recent years, winning numerous awards and breaking ratings records.
So far, all three seasons of the British edition of Traitors have featured “ordinary civilians.” However, the American version already mixed stars with members of the general public, and the second and third seasons featured only celebrities.
It looks like the BBC has decided to follow in Peacock’s footsteps in the US and create a big-name version. Here’s everything we know about the new installment, Traitors.

When will Celebrity Traitors be released?
The BBC and Studio Lambert have not yet revealed any information about the show’s release date, but filming for the famous special will begin this year.
If production takes place before season four (which usually films in late summer), then there’s a chance we could see Celebrity traitors in 2025.
It was confirmed that the spin-off will consist of nine episodes.
Who is the host of the show “Celebrity Traitors”?
You can rest easy because the iconic Traitors UK presenter, Claudia Winklemanwill also host a star-studded version of the show.
Who are the members of the famous version of “Celebrity Traitors”?
There is no approved list of participants for the program yet – according to the BBC, casting among celebrities is underway.
Famous entertainment host SuperTV reported a list of celebrities currently rumored to include current royals, presenters, comedians, sports figures and more. They are as follows:

Earlier rumors also suggested that Courteney Cox may be one of the participants. The actress appeared in a video published by Claudia Winkleman announcing the second season of Traitors in the UK. For fans, this proves that Cox is a fan of the series and may appear in the famous version.
Mike Cotton, creative director of Unscripted at Studio Lambert and executive producer of The Traitors, said:
We are very excited to invite some celebrities to our castle to come and play the game. Seeing celebrities walking around the round table or donning the infamous green cloaks is not to be missed on television, and it also confirmed what a double treat for fans with Series 4. There are many more exciting betrayals and deceptions to come from the Highlands… Claudia will have to take along additional knitwear.
What will Celebrity Traitors be about?
The formula for the series will most likely be similar to the “civilians” version.
Celebrities will be locked in a castle in the Scottish Highlands, competing for a cash prize. However, there will be several “Traitors” lurking within the group – they will plot and “kill” other members. Therefore, the “Faithful” will have to find out who the “traitors” are and vote for their exit from the game.

Celebrity Traitors will be available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Both seasons of The Traitors UK are now available on the service.
