In 2025, I’m done with beige, black and monotonous numbers. I’m already full. I was looking around the halls at CES 2025, and what caught my attention wasn’t the plethora of silver, black, or even white PC cases—there sure are a lot of them—but those rosy numbers.
First, Thermaltake has several PC cases in new color options. to die for. I’m struggling to pick a favorite, but let’s start with the Tower 250 in Mint Strawberry.
This Mini-ITX case offers a gorgeous two-tone effect, will set you back $130, and ships in February. The Butter Caramel option is not my favorite, but I can see it working for many themed builds.
Then a ton of Tower 600 cases lined up at Thermaltake’s booth at CES 2025. Only two of these colorways are actual for this ATX-sized case, but they’re two of the best and brightest.
The best of these is the Tower 600 in Future Dusk, a dark purple color with gray accents on the inside of the case. As Thermaltake rep Mike emphasized, the gray color really makes the whole thing pop. I tend to agree with Mike, it really is.
The Green Light Year option is the brightest. This thing is perhaps the most outstanding of all. I don’t like the Buzz Lightyear green as much as the dark purple, but damn, I respect his persistence to just use it in this design.
We’re not done yet. Thermaltake is offering three new compact case designs that are some of the smallest in the last ten years. This is the TR100, and it’s available in Mint Strawberry, Bubble Pink, and Hydrangea Blue, the latter of which is a more muted (but tasteful) color that Thermaltake plastered all over its booth last year.
This compact chassis looks pretty mean. It can house a massive graphics card as shown in the images, as well as a 280mm liquid cooler. The blue version of this case will be released this month, but the pink and mint (the best version) won’t be available until the second quarter of 2025. One of them will cost you $120.
Hyte also unveiled some exciting cases at CES 2025. If you are an astute reader, you know that the company has already announced its release. new bright Y70 cases at the Computex stand last year (which is where the images below are taken from). Well, the good news is that these cases are officially happening now, as Hite told me at CES this year.
I thought this was already happening, but given the reaction to them, it would be foolish not to give them proper release.
There are pink, blue and purple.
One of the really new announcements from Hyte at CES 2025 is multi-colored processor cases. Made from CNC-machined aluminum, they’re available in a variety of colors and fit AM5, LGA 1851, and LGA 1700. For Intel users, they can really come in handy to minimize chip flex, although Hite says they’re just for appearance /easy removal of thermal paste on AMD.
There are some really bright and colorful cases to choose from and I’m glad to see them finally hitting the market. It’s all well and good lighting up your computer with thousands of RGB LEDs, but these paint jobs are pretty special.
