CompTIA bolsters penetration testing certification

CompTIA recently updated my PenTest+ Certification Program train professionals in cybersecurity penetration testing with training in artificial intelligence (AI), scanning and analysis, and vulnerability management, among others.

PenTest+ certification According to CompTIA, training now includes access to a hacked website that provides cybersecurity professionals with live targets and vulnerabilities to identify and mitigate real threats. The certification course will certify that cybersecurity professionals have knowledge and skills in “penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, mitigation, reporting and other responsibilities that proactively protect cybersecurity assets,” CompTIA said in a statement.

Cybersecurity penetration testing, or penetration testing, involves a security assessment in which a security professional acts as a malicious hacker and simulates a cyber attack on a computer system or network to identify potential vulnerabilities. This allows organizations to proactively address vulnerabilities or weaknesses and mitigate them before an actual attack occurs. Using the same tools and techniques that hackers use, security professionals can find vulnerabilities in a system.
