Corsair Xeneon Edge is a 32:9 secondary touchscreen display that mounts almost anywhere
What just happened? CES always features a ton of new technology products, some more useful than others. Your opinion of the Corsair Xeneon Edge’s touchscreen may depend on how much you want the 14.5-inch 32:9 secondary display, which is also a touchscreen.
Secondary displays are certainly not new, but they are becoming increasingly complex these days. Xeneon Edge This is certainly unusual or a bit strange as it boasts a 2560 by 720 resolution LCD touchscreen that offers a very crisp 183 PPI density, 350 nits of brightness and a 60Hz refresh rate on an IPS panel.
Xeneon Edge is flexible when it comes to where you place it. Users can place the device on their desk using the included stand, attach it to a PC or any ferromagnetic surface using the 14 built-in magnets, or place it in the case at the 360mm radiator mounting point, which admittedly sounds pretty cool. . Corsair writes that it is thinner than a typical case fan, so clearance should be a minimal concern.
The display is connected via USB Type-C DP-Alt Mode or a standard HDMI port. Another thing that sounds quite interesting is its ability to work in both vertical and horizontal orientations. This means it will be useful for anyone who needs to constantly scroll through social media feeds or keep an eye on Discord. Windows recognizes Xeneon Edge as another screen, so you can use it as such.
Corsair writes that the Xeneon Edge features a five-point capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch support that functions like a standard Windows touch display, providing added versatility.
The press image shows multiple apps running simultaneously on the screen, including a clock, calendar, weather and music player. It is unclear whether this software will be included with the device.
The screen also integrates with Corsair iCue software to display comprehensive information about system fan speed, temperature, CPU and GPU load. You can also change profiles, lighting, fans, etc. using the touch screen.
There’s no word yet on how much the Xeneon Edge will cost, but don’t be surprised if it turns out to be quite expensive. The screen will be available in the second quarter of 2025 through Corsair resellers and on the company’s website.
We’ve already seen a lot of LCD screens on the pump covers of AIO liquid coolers. Was it Full HD one from Lamptron last year, which also served as a secondary screen, and in March last year, Chinese hardware manufacturer Tryx introduced the world’s first AIO coolers with curved AMOLED display.
