Deals: the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 9 fall to the same price, Pixel 9 Pro also gets a price cut

As we prepare for the holidays and say goodbye to 2024, Amazon is offering deep discounts on flagship devices from Samsung and Google.

Long story short, the Pixel lacks a telephoto lens and has lower performance, but it has a better main camera and ultra-wide-angle lens, as well as longer battery life.

A better choice might be the Google Pixel 9 Pro. This one does have a telephoto camera – a 48MP 113mm module that goes far beyond the 10MP 67mm module on the Galaxy. Performance isn’t much better (all Pixel 9 phones use the same Tensor G4), but the difference in RAM capacity is hard to ignore (the Pixel has twice as much RAM!).

There’s also the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, but that’s a large phone (6.8-inch display, 5,060mAh battery) aimed at the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

We are changing direction and will focus on tablets next. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ is now $350 off, starting at $1,000. This 12.4-inch tablet has an IP68 protection rating and is powered by the Dimensity 9300+ instead of the traditional Snapdragon.

You can also choose the larger Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which has a 14.6-inch display (120Hz OLED). It’s almost laptop-sized, and you can actually use it as a tablet, with an optional keyboard cover ($160).

You can’t go any smaller, though, and even less so with the Tab S10 generation. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 still exists, an 11-inch tablet launched last year powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
