Dell updates XPS and Alienware desktops with Alder Lake CPUs – Systems – News

The new XPS desktop is said to be about 20 percent cooler under load than previous models. Additionally, the new fans can spin at a slower speed to move enough air, making the system 50 percent quieter under load than previous generations.

Dell XPS desktops are available with processors up to 12th generation Intel Core i9 and graphics cards up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 or AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT. Dell also offers some particularly powerful “Creator Edition” versions to save you time configuring and checking. Some configurations include liquid cooling.

These new Dell XPS desktops will be available “later this fall” with Windows 11 pre-installed, starting at $920.

Dell also recently updated its Alienware Aurora. Like the new Dell XPS above, it’s also experienced a similar 1.5x size expansion. Inside, Alienware has worked hard to orchestrate the layout for good airflow, with the highest-end configurations offering up to four case fans and pre-installed AiO CPU cooling. These changes mean the new Alienware Aurora is around 15% quieter than its predecessor under load.

You will once again be able to specify the most powerful 12^th Next-generation Intel Core processors (now revealed), and GPUs up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090.

Dell says the new Alienware Aurora R13 will be available immediately, starting at $1,480. Those who prefer AMD can buy the Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14, which starts at $1,250.
