Diabetes management made simple with Isaac’s new tech
Unveiled at CES 2025, PreEvnt’s new Isaac non-invasive blood glucose monitoring device aims to revolutionize diabetes care with real-time alerts through breath analysis.
At CES 2025, PreEvnt, a subsidiary of Scosche Industries, introduced Isaac, an innovative device designed to monitor blood glucose levels without finger pricks. The small device, attached to a clip or lanyard, combines advanced sensors and an easy-to-use app for convenient, less invasive diabetes management.
Isaac Monitor
Isaac is suitable for people with type 1 and 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes or those who want to monitor their metabolic health. Using patented Nanoz technology, the device detects acetone, a volatile organic compound in exhaled breath, and measures glucose levels.
Like service dogs trained to detect glycemic episodes, Isaac provides its users with real-time feedback.
The companion app, available for iOS and Android, allows you to track and report your blood glucose levels to caregivers or healthcare professionals. Alerts and notifications are customizable, allowing users to take timely action. The rechargeable device lasts all day on a single charge, making it ideal for running multiple daily tests.
Isaac’s development comes from personal history. Inspired by the challenges faced by the inventor’s grandson, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of two, the device aims to reduce reliance on traditional, often painful methods of glucose monitoring.
For many, traditional finger pricking methods are cumbersome and painful, leading to inconsistent monitoring. Isaac could bridge this gap by offering an affordable alternative backed by five years of rigorous research in collaboration with Indiana University.
However, the product is still under FDA review and is not yet available for sale in the United States. FDA review ensures that a device meets strict standards for safety and effectiveness, which can bolster consumer confidence once it is released.
