Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Estimated File Size Update

@NicolausCamp I’m not defending this. I’m responding to people’s suggestions for what they want to do about it, and so far none of them are based in reality. There’s just a lot of “coulda and shoulda” based on things the company didn’t have the foresight to implement more than a decade ago.

In my opinion, it’s no different than something like SMTV, Persona 5 Royal, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, or any other definitive edition of the game, which just looks prettier. The market has shown time and time again that people are willing and able to pay for it and accept it, so why shouldn’t businesses?

This sucks. Yes. But for example, $70 minimum for new release, DLC, pre-order bonuses, microtransactions, season passes, online payment, cloud versions, collector’s editions with download code, no physical releases in retail packaging, limited time content, live services, unnecessary remasters for systems that can already play games, disc drives are an optional extra… the list goes on, the market has spoken and here we are after years of moaning, and it’s still relevant.

And frankly, this industry and Nintendo have bigger problems than a $60 remaster of a Wii game handed to a Polish remastering studio that people aren’t nearly as vocal about.
