this year’s iPhone 16 Pro New Geekbench results suggest the model may perform better than the M1 chip.
this Geekbench scoreUploaded earlier this week, it was related to the iPhone 17,1, which is the name of this year’s “Pro” model equipped with the A18 Pro chip.
The single-core score was 3429 points and the multi-core score was 8790 points, which is an improvement over last year’s Pro phone and consistent with Apple’s own keynote numbers at the Glowtime event.
However, aside from comparisons to last year’s iPhones, the A18 Pro appears to have an edge when compared to the M1, which debuted in Mac systems with the advent of Apple Silicon.
Can your iPhone outperform your laptop?
While this is a benchmark rather than an actual test, it’s interesting to note that the A18 Pro is a device that fits in your pocket and is now starting to compete with Apple’s laptop and desktop chips (although those chips come from several years ago).
The M1’s multi-core performance benchmark is around 8300, and the A18 Pro seems to be more impressive, and while this comparison may seem like apples to oranges to some, it shows where Apple has come in just a few short years. How much progress has been made during the year – not to mention the rest of the industry not far behind.
