X owner Elon Musk is facing new allegations that he is also behind Elon Musk fan Adrian Dittmann. The claim gained notoriety after screenshots posted by Dittmann on 4chan (because, of course, it was 4chan) appeared to show that he had access to administrator privileges on X, although the authenticity of the image is disputed by a source inside X.
The image was posted by Dittmann as part of a rambling defense of Musk’s management of X, his ability to properly self-medicate and, perhaps most famously, “Elon is a dad who gets a lot of sex.” The messages have since been deleted, but preserved for posterity (and ironically, it must be said) in various posts on X.
Other posts that Elon made on this /pol/ thread before they were exposed and deleted are truly noteworthy: https://t.co/XwlMBowxz1 pic.twitter.com/Fl1bca9uCNJanuary 3, 2025
(There is also 4chan archive if you want to delve into all this, be aware that there is a lot of racism, homophobia and transphobia here – this is 4chan, after all – and adjust your expectations accordingly.)
However, what really caught attention was a snapshot of the X interface posted by Dittmann, which appeared to show that he had access to administrator privileges on the platform. Its interface image includes links to account switching, the admin portal, and bans—options not available to regular X users.

This in itself is very strange indeed, but it carries added weight because it complements earlier claims that Musk and Dittmann are one and the same: July 2023 report. Independentfor example, said that “Dittmann’s voice and laugh are remarkably similar to Musk’s,” something other X members have independently noted. Dittmann apparently also mentioned Mask in first person at least once, and Musk’s own daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson (via Edge) also seem to believe that they same person.
However, the image posted on 4chan is not conclusive evidence on its own. This was reported by a source in X. Edge that the actual interface used by X employees is nothing like the one seen in the image, meaning it was doctored to fuel rumors that Dittmann is the sockpuppet account. It’s not even certain that Dittmann, whoever he is, posted this: 4chan users can use pretty much any name they want when creating new threads, so it could just be a bored third party trying to entertain people for the sake of entertainment.
But on another On the other hand, Musk has done similar things before. In a 2024 lawsuit deposition reported by Huffington PostMusk began using Sockpuppet accounts, including one in which he pretended to be a three-year-old child, although he said the account was only used “for testing.”
Musk Dittmann? Dittmann Musk? What makes it all so tediously stupid is that it’s impossible to say. In a sane world, claims that the richest man on the planet is using a long-term overnight doll to prop himself up with ego boosters that sound like they were written by a teenager would probably be dismissed out of hand as complete nonsense. it is shared by the same ten-year-old offenders. But in our world there is no such luxury. We have speculation, anonymous denials and, worst of all, the very real possibility that yes, Musk is Dittmann.
There’s no way to prove otherwise, and so there’s a good chance this madness will drag on for a long time, unless Musk plays it up so hard that denial becomes impossible, or he’s forced to reveal the truth in another lawsuit. . For now, we can at least take some comfort from the one thing in the online world that never lets us down: memes.
Update: Following the initial controversy over Adrian Dittmann’s real identity, which escalated further after Dittmann took part in a three-hour broadcast with a Twitch streamer. ConnorEatingPantsMaya Arson Creamew and Ryan Fay published deep analysis which they said provided “concrete evidence” that Dittman is not Elon Musk. Or at least that Adrian Dittman is a real person and not just a figment of Musk’s imagination.
It’s a compelling argument, but it leaves open the question of whether Musk has access or control over Dittman’s social media presence to any extent, which is much harder to answer. Musk himself seemed keen to continue fanning the flames of confusion, writing X over the weekend (probably not as a serious confession, but who knows): “I’m Adrian Dittmann. It’s time for the world to know.”
I think it’s safe to say that at this point the world doesn’t know anything at all.
