Elon Musk said he’s not interested in acquiring TikTok | TechCrunch
Elon Musk recently said that he “is not chatting from buying Tiktok.”
Musk made these comments during an interview at the Economic Summit of Welt on January 28. A video of the interview was published today.
The interview was held after President Donald Trump postponed the law requiring a mother’s company to sell Tiktok or see it is prohibited in the United States. At that time, there were reports that the Chinese government was open for a transaction in which Musk (the key ally of Trump) would have acquired an application. Trump even told reporters that he would like to see how Musk or Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison acquired a ticktok; He also signed an order to create a sovereign welfare fund, which can acquire a share in the appendix.
But Musk claimed that he was not interested, categorically stating: “I did not put it in the ticktock.”
“I have no plans for what I would do if I had a Tiktok,” he said in an interview. “I think I would look at the algorithm and try to decide: how useful or useful is this algorithm? And what can we do to change the algorithm in order to be more productive and ultimately be useful for humanity? “
He added that he does not “use Tiktok personally” and “not so familiar with him”. And he described his acquisition of Twitter (now X) as an anomaly in his career: “I usually build companies from scratch.”
Musk comments on Tiktoka appeared almost 20 minutes after the interview, which initially focused on his plans for his government efficiency department (DOGE) under the Trump administration. Mask and its allies subsequently took control of federal agencies and gained access to large confidential data routes.
“As for the government, the task is actually overcoming the bureaucracy,” he said. “I think that the bureaucracy may be the penultimate battle of the boss. The final battle of the bosses is defeating entropy … The second most powerful battle is to defeat the bureaucracy. This is how difficult to improve the government. ”
