I saw it last year All Annapurna Interactive staff have resigned after an argument with owner Megan Ellison. Four months later Bloomberg reported that former employees formed a new company and took over the entire Private Division portfolio (thank you, GamesIndustry.biz).

The as-yet unnamed company has reportedly acquired all of the Private Division-branded games from Texas-based Haveli Investments, an alleged “undisclosed buyer” after Take-Two sold the studio last yearclaiming to be focused on growing its “core business for the long term.” While no details have been released at this time, Bloomberg reports that the new company’s buyout will likely result in layoffs at the studio for the 20 employees who joined the Haveli-led Private Division.

All this means that the new company will own the rights to Kerbala space program And OlliOli franchises – both development studios were closed last year – and distribution rights to people such as Tales of the Shire: The Lord of the Rings Game and Game Freak’s upcoming adventure game Project Bloom.

Annapurna Interactive owner Megan Ellison released a statement after last year’s walkout, saying the company’s top priority was “continuing to support our developer and publisher partners during this transition.” The studio that attracted people like Outer Wilds, Lorelei and laser eyes And Wander to Switch in recent years – has since embarked on a recruitment campaign in an attempt to fill missing positions.
