Seekers of the Sky Veilthe game that combines MOBA-style gameplay with extraction shooter mechanics – and seems to do it very well – announced today that it will be entering Early Access in March. But first, another round of playtesting will begin on Steam on January 10th.
Seekers of Skyveil looks like a MOBA, but what lies behind it is actually something else entirely. PC Gamer’s Tyler Kolp tried out an early version of the game in May 2024 and was I was very impresseddescribing its unusual genre structure as “elastic in a way that the typical MOBA structure doesn’t allow, giving it a good chance of attracting people who aren’t interested in a game that’s mostly dependent on you playing in its final moments.” “…that is, people who are not usually into MOBAs. Of course, people who like MOBAs will probably like this too, and if you’re not sure about it, this is the perfect opportunity to find out.
Open to North American players, this round of playtesting will be the largest yet. It will run for 10 days from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm PT every day and is open to anyone who applies to participate. Steam. Everyone who plays during this playtest will receive an exclusive emote for playing for at least one day and a new crown accessory for playing for at least five days. The test will also offer Twitch Drops. To take part in testing, simply go to the Steam page and click the “request access” button – you will be able to download the client and log in immediately.
Additional testing will follow in February, including a week-long stress test during Steam Next Fest from February 24 to March 3, during which the servers will be running 24 hours a day. Assuming nothing goes catastrophically wrong, the end of the stress test on March 3 will signal the start of full-scale Early Access.
