Five new iPhones are launching this year, here’s what’s coming

Apple has many successful products, but its biggest product by far is the iPhone. This year, Apple will launch five new iPhone models, and here are the highlights of each model.

iPhone SE 4

First, the iPhone SE eliminates the Home button and uses a borderless OLED display with a notch.

The new SE will also have many features of the flagship iPhone 16, such as:

We also expect Apple’s first self-developed 5G modem to debut in iPhone SE 4, thus completing particularly eye-catching Budget options.

iPhone 17 Air

This fall, Apple will launch four new iPhone 17 models. It’s become customary to launch four new iPhones each fall, but this year one of them will get a big change.

The iPhone Plus is disappearing and will be replaced by the iPhone 17 Air.

The iPhone 17 Air will prioritize looks over functionality. It will have similar specs to the base iPhone 17, such as an A19 chip (not the A19 Pro) and 8GB of RAM (not the 12GB of the Pro series). But its ultra-thin, futuristic design will demand a higher price tag.

While the iPhone 17 Air will be a shiny, exciting new product, Apple isn’t slacking off on the Pro line.

The iPhone 17 Pro will offer the same 6.3-inch display as the 16 Pro, but with some design changes. For example, it gets a redesigned framework replacing titanium with aluminum, and larger, rectangular Camera collision.

Internally, the iPhone 17 Pro will have:

• A19 Pro chip
• 12GB memory, the highest memory in iPhone history
• Qualcomm’s 5G modem

There will almost certainly be some nice rear camera upgrades to go along with the redesigned camera bump. But for the first time in a while, selfie cameras are also getting some love.

iPhone 17 Pro Max

As usual, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will get all the best features of the smaller iPhone 17 Pro, but with some small benefits like better battery life due to its larger size.

Apple’s basic iPhone 17 rounds out the 2025 lineup.

• Same 6.1-inch display as iPhone 16

Some other details about the base model will surely emerge in the coming months, but for now, it looks like the device will face stiff competition not only from the Air and Pro series, but also from the cheaper iPhone SE 4 .
