Oxenfree is one of my favorite games. Its riveting combination of naturalism, playful dialogue, and weird podcast-style storytelling captivated me and completely drew me into its enigmatic narrative. Strange radio signals, ghostly apparitions, and anomalies in time and space are all experienced through the eyes of some bright teenagers on one last jaunt before heading off to college. I can’t recommend it to enough people.

Then the sequel came out in 2023, but I didn’t play it. I don’t want to play with it. I think it was because I was afraid that it wouldn’t be able to recreate that moment, which was perfect.
