Galaxy S24 Gets January Android Patch With One UI 7 Around the Corner

The Galaxy S25 series will go official on Samsung Unpacked in less than two weeks. This moment is important because we’re considering buying new phones, but it also marks the moment when One UI 7 should come out of beta and start showing up on older phones. One of these phones will be the Galaxy S24 series, which was almost the only device. Samsung will test the beta version of One UI 7. The thing is, we’re not there yet, and January has arrived with a fresh update available for those not testing Android 15.

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra are getting the January Android update starting today.According to Verizon. This update, as expected, is nothing more than a collection of security patches designed to tighten any security holes. While we always hope for more, I’m a little surprised to see this update knowing One UI 7 should be so close. Maybe this means that One UI 7 is still a month away?

The update is distributed in the form of builds UP1A.231005.007.S928USQS4AXL2 (S24 Ultra), S926USQS4AXL2 (S24+) and S921USQS4AXL2 (S24). Once again, Verizon says the update “brings the latest Android security fixes to your device” and nothing more.

To check for this update, go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

Necessarily fill out the free reservation form for your Galaxy S25. If you end up buying it, it will save you money.
