Garmin’s new Instinct 3 lineup is designed for outdoor adventures

Garmin has just announced the newest addition to its line of smartwatches, the Instinct 3. CES 2025.

Available in two variants: AMOLED and Solar, the Garmin Instinct 3 is designed for both everyday smartwatch use and more adventurous outdoor activities.

Instinct 3 It’s the first of the series to feature an AMOLED screen, which Gamin promises will offer “vivid, high-resolution images every day.” Alternatively, you can choose the Solar model with a built-in solar lens, which uses the sun’s energy more efficiently than the Instinct 2.

In fact, Garmin claims that compared to Instinct 2 Solar Powered, 50mm Instinct 3 Solar extends battery life by more than five times in GPS mode when charging via solar power, allowing for unlimited battery life.

On the other hand, the AMOLED model can last up to 24 days without recharging in smartwatch mode.

Regardless of the model you choose, they both feature a flashlight that not only provides variable intensity, but also red light and a strobe mode to help increase awareness in the dark.

The Instinct 3 series is also MIL-STD 810 rated for heat and shock resistance, and the watch is water resistant to 100 meters, making it the perfect companion for braving the elements while hiking or camping.

Otherwise, in true Garmin style, you can track key health and wellness metrics including heart rate, sleep, heart rate variability (HRV) status, and more. There is also dedicated monitoring of women’s health, menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking.

In addition to the Instinct 3 smartwatch, Garmin also introduced the HRM 200 at CES, a line of heart rate monitors that provides athletes with accurate heart rate and HRV data to help improve overall performance.

Although an exact launch date is not yet known, Garmin says the HRM 200 will have an RRP of £79.99.

The Garmin Instinct 3 AMOLED and Solar models are available in 45mm or 50mm sizes, with the former starting at £389.99 and the latter slightly cheaper at £349.99. All smartwatches will go on sale starting January 10.
