Here in CES 2025Mini PC maker Geekom is showcasing its next-generation solutions and unveiling one new mini desktop PC with top mobile chips from AMD, Intel and even Qualcomm. While Geekom claims its Snapdragon mini PC will be the first to market, we’ve also spotted some Lenovo Mini PC Powered by Qualcomm Processors on KES 2024 exhibition hall.
Limiting Geekom’s presence at the show, the focus is on a trio of upcoming mini PCs: the IT15, QS1, and A9 Max. We previously covered the Mega Mini G1 tower in a special hands-on review ahead of CES, but Geekom also highlights its already released A6, which sports the latest-gen AMD Ryzen 6700H processor with the latest-gen AMD Ryzen 6700H processor. Radeon 680M iGPU.
On the Intel side, we have the Geekom IT15, which boasts a Core Ultra 9 285H or Core Ultra 5 225H processor. Any CPU can be equipped with Intel Arc XE-LPG A130T graphics and up to 64GB of DDR5-5800 RAM.
The overall size of the Geekom IT15 is 135.5 x 115.5 x 34.5 millimeters, so it seems like Geekom isn’t afraid to allocate thermal mass to these new Intel processors. There’s also room to install one 2.5-inch SSD next to two M.2 SSDs, although in reality only one M.2 slot handles NVMe Gen 4 throughput and the other is SATA M.2.
In terms of I/O, the Geekom IT15 also seems to be fully featured, with 2x USB4 Type-C ports and 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports. Combined with two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 2.5G Ethernet port, a standard headphone jack, and even an SD card slot, the Geekom IT15 seems like a good choice for those who want an Intel-powered mini PC. Built-in support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 ensures there’s no shortage of connectivity options.
Unfortunately, further information on pricing and availability for this mini PC is not yet available.
More unique among Geekom’s new contenders will be the Geekom QS1 mini PC, which is the smallest of the new offerings (just 135.5 x 115.5 x 34.5mm) and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset. Specifically, it uses the X Elite X1E-80-100 with 12 CPU cores and Adreno GPU, and the NPU is claimed to deliver up to 45 AI TOPS. RAM support reaches up to 64GB DDR4-8400 MT/s RAM, as well as storage support for up to two NVMe Gen 4 SSDs (one M.2-2280, one M.2-2230).
For the most part, the specs we see here are roughly in line with what we’ve come to expect from the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite computers we’ve seen elsewhere, especially in the laptop space. However, changing the form factor cannot solve the general problems of the Snapdragon X Elite (especially those related to software compatibility, etc.).
However, for those intrigued by the Snapdragon X Elite mini PC, Geekom appears to be giving it a good shot. Targeting a price of under $500 including Wi-Fi 7. And Bluetooth 5.4 and serviceable I/O allow Geekom to still sell this device. It includes 1 USB4 Type-C port, 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, 1 USB 2 Type-A port, 1 HDMI 2.0 port, 1 DisplayPort 1.4 port, standard headphone jack, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and even an SD card slot. Throw in a few small hardware features like fingerprint unlock and a set of 4 digital built-in microphones and you might have a winner… or at least a little curiosity.
Last but not least is the Geekom A9 Max, which is the largest contender with dimensions of 135 x 132 x 46.9mm and probably the best overall performance thanks to the integrated AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with 12 cores, 24 threads and an AMD processor. industry leading iGPU Radeon 890M. There is also a slightly weaker AI 9 365 (10C,20T) configuration that uses a weaker Radeon 880M graphics card, but is otherwise the same. The integrated Ryzen processor is rated for up to 55 AI TOPS.
As can be seen from the larger size, it seems that the Geekom A9 Max is considered to be Geekom’s new high-end mini PC, and AMD’s clear dominance in iGPU performance is likely the reason for this choice. It makes sense to give this chipset maximum cooling headroom, and like the other mini PCs in the lineup, the A9 Max supports up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, albeit limited to just 5,600 MT/s. There is also support for two NVMe Gen 4 drives, but with mixed support for M.2-2280 (standard) and M.2-2230 (mini) slots. Like all other Geekom mini PCs, the A9 Max is also fully equipped with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support.
Of Geekom’s offerings, the A9 Max has more comprehensive I/O. I/O includes two USB4 Type-C ports (one with power delivery support), as many as 5 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, 1 USB2 Type-A port, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, standard headphone jack, SD slot -cards. and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
