Gemini AI can now summarize what’s in your Google Drive folders

Using this feature, you can open a folder and select the new “Summary this folder” button at the top of the page. Gemini will then provide you with detailed information about the folder’s contents. As Google points out, you can use Gemini to find specific files in a folder, or ask questions about the folder, such as “What is the theme of this folder?”

You can also drag and drop a folder into the Gemini sidebar, as well as right-click the folder and select Ask Gemini.

Currently, Google says Gemini can only provide information about text documents, PDFs, spreadsheets and presentations. However, when 9 to 5 google Tested the toolit found that Gemini could also recognize images in folders.

Google First brought Gemini To the sidebar in Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides June. Gemini’s folder summary feature is now available to Google One AI Premium subscribers and Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Education Premium users.
