Samsung is working hard on finishing touches A user interface 7 Now, Galaxy users everywhere are eagerly waiting for their update. With the release of One UI 7 beta for Galaxy S24 phones, we’re getting an early preview of all the changes happening, including Bar nowlock the interactive gadget at the bottom of the screen. While we wait for Samsung’s efforts to progress, we’ve put together a few theories on how the Now Bar could develop further.

Now Bar already supports many popular apps and services, including not only Samsung’s own like Health, but also Google stuff like Maps. While Now Bar works with Bixby, we’re curious to see what might happen with its integration with Google Gemini.
As far as Gemini is concerned, Samsung and Google already have a very friendly relationship that seems to be getting stronger. We’ve already seen signs that Samsung apps are in the works Support for new Gemini extensionsSamsung will even let you replace Bixby with Gemini for quick access from your device Galaxy side button. For these, we may soon be able to add some new Gemini controls for existing fields.
While digging into the 15.52.37.sa.arm64 version of the Google app, we found some code snippets that not only referenced the Now Bar itself, but also appeared to reference some recent work we’d spotted on Gemini Live. You may remember that about a month ago we took a look at how Gemini Live would adopt a new notification interface Telephone controlincluding “Hang Up” and “Hold” buttons. According to our analysis, Google seems to want to provide a similar Gemini Live interface for One UI 7’s Now Bar.
Currently, this doesn’t work in any way, and we couldn’t even convince One UI to give us a preview of the interface. But as the pieces start to fall into place behind the scenes, there’s a good chance we’ll see this interaction ready when Samsung’s new Android skin is ready to stabilize and start showing up on more existing Galaxy lines.
