Gemini progressing on Android Auto [Video]

Google is gradually moving its products from Google Assistant to Gemini, and the latest example comes in the form of Gemini on Android Auto.

It’s no secret that Gemini will eventually appear in Android Auto. Months ago, code suggested Google is adding Gemini Live to Android Auto in some capacity, but so far nothing has appeared. But now new versions of the application are bringing the release of Gemini closer.

People from Android authority they managed to manually enable the Gemini interface on Android Auto, presumably in the v13.5 update, which went into beta this week. It’s not launched yet, but Gemini replaces Google Assistant in the UI, with the current Assistant microphone icon being replaced with a blue-purple gradient microphone icon.

Currently, Gemini doesn’t operate in Auto mode at all, but the user interface is almost identical to Assistant.

There is no word yet on when this will be available to everyone as Google has yet to announce the expansion.

This comes right after Google announced that Gemini would be coming to Google TV in 2025and we also found evidence that Gemini will also be coming to Wear OS.
