
Gentrified Doom remake trades chainsaw for cheese knife
Just when you thought you’d seen everything possible Rock mod, two game developers released a free browser game This is a reimagining of the first level from 1993. Rock like an art gallery that replaces demons with paintings and shotguns with wine glasses.
Doom: Gallery Experiencecreated by Filippo Meozzi and Liam Stone, transforms the iconic E1M1 level into a virtual museum space where players guide a bespectacled Doomguy through halls of fine art to the sound of classical music. The game links each artwork displayed to a corresponding page on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s website.
“This experience lets you stroll around and appreciate art while sipping wine and enjoying free snacks,” the developers write on the game’s itch.io page, in a beautifully renovated and refurbished space. id Software’s imaginary E1M1 ROCK (1993)”.

In the game, players collect money scattered around the gallery to purchase items in the gift shop. It also includes a “cheese meter” that fills as players consume snacks found in the environment, collected as if they were health kits in the original game.
