- Disney has created a fun, free, interactive game in Galaxy’s Edge.
- Using your MagicBand+ and your smartphone, you can join a Bounty Hunter Guild.
- With the help of the band and the technology surrounding the land, you can explore and find bounties.
one of the best things disneyland No matter which park you’re in, you’ll be immersed in the storyline, and the company is known for going the extra mile. One of the best examples is Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida.
Imagine Project arm No detail has been spared; I mean, you can walk right up to the Millennium Falcon – and pilot it or a part of it in Smuggler’s Run – go on a mission in Rise of the Resistance, or just go on a mission in Palestine Walk around the map, spend points and drink blue or green milk. You might even spot a Wookiee, Resistance Hero, or Stormtrooper.
However, one of the more hidden-in-plain-sight, immersive aspects is the ability to become a bounty hunter, just like Mando in Mando. The Mandalorian. You can use MagicBand+ with the iPhone or Android app (or just the latter) to join a bounty hunter guild and search for bounties around Batuu.
This is one of the many benefits Magic Bracelet+you’ll most likely already be in the park and can use it to interact with other aspects around the park, including other attractions and even mini light shows during fireworks and parades.
So, how does this work in Batuu? Well, when you enter Batuu in Disney World or Disneyland, your MagicBand+ will light up and you’ll need to find a terminal to join the Bounty Hunters Guild. You tap the band onto the terminal and receive the assigned bounty. From there, it’s like a treasure hunt – or rather, a bounty hunt – around the Black Spire Outpost area of Galaxy’s Edge in both parks. As you approach a place where the bounty might be hiding, your MagicBand+ will light up and vibrate (faster or slower), basically telling you if it’s hot or cold.
Once you’ve identified an area, you can whip out your iPhone or Android phone and open “Play Disney” Appwhich in turn turns your phone into a data pad scanner, epic technology that lets you scan and see what’s behind a door or wall. You might just come across the bounty you want and be able to capture it. It’s all thanks to AR (Augmented Reality) technology on your phone’s camera, but it takes you even further into your own world when you’re in the park Star Wars story.
It’s also an example of technology no longer being front and center but creating some of the wonder or magic behind the scenes, much like Disney’s Imagineers’ adorable road to success. Through the power of technology in wearable sensors, which can interact with sensors throughout the land, they can also act as your park ticket, payment, reservation unlocker, etc. It can also be used to provide Interactive games.
If you’re at Galaxy’s Edge with your MagicBand+ I encourage you to give the Bounty Hunters Guild a try, while it may not be as exciting as the actual ride, of which there are two to go on, it’s a bit more adventurous as you Never know what you will encounter.
Once you’ve earned some bounties, you can return to the terminal and see how many points you might have earned. The best thing? You can earn another bounty and explore more of Batuu, and it’s very replayable with many different bounties that may be scored. Considering Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters debuts in 2022, this is somewhat of an instant hit and makes me wonder what experiences will come next.
