Magic Eraser vs. Clean Up: Does the Apple iPhone or the Google Pixel do it better?

Apple released its cleaning function with iOS 18.1. This tool with AI, contributing to AI, removes undesirable people and objects from your images. It looks like the flagship magic eraser Google, which lived for several years. The purification function for a long time was looking for Apple users, especially after Google introduced its AI-Editing tool on Google Pixel in 2021.

Apple developed its own version, hoping that the technology and investments standing behind it will spill and be better than its competitors. The question is, did Apple succeed with cleaning? Here is the look at whether the Apple Clean Up or Magic Eraser Google is a real winner with photographs of AI.

Cleaning is more intuitive to use

This is an alternative to magical eraser

In the next galleries of images behind the original image, the image of a magic eraser follows, and then a version for cleaning the same image.

To start the test, I used cleaning on my iPhone 16 Pro to compare it with Magic Eraser on Google Pixel 8 Pro. One thing that highlights Apple is how faster it finds the sentences that can appear in the photographs. This almost immediately distinguishes additional objects surrounded, allowing you to remove them with a finger crane. On the contrary, Google’s magic eraser takes more time to find sentences, especially in images with too large background objects.

I used both tools to select objects in this photo on a goat. While Apple took less than a minute, I struggled with a magic eraser on the pixel to make sure that he had erased everything that my iPhone successfully removed. The Google image looks more natural. I’m not sure why Apple is eroded on the extreme right side of the version.

The magic eraser is better to fill the background

You can’t even say that it is generated by AI

Apple cleaning is new, which makes it not as advanced as AI Google, especially when filling out images. I gave both tools to edit photos a cool task: Wash the Gargantuan car from the picture above. Apple realized that removal of the car also meant removal of its reflection. When I went around the car, this revealed a reflection to remove. Google did this. However, as shown above, he was well filled in the background, which makes it an almost invisible human eye to notice that this picture was edited.

The second picture with which I tried was one in the pool, where I tried to erase three pairs of feet. Apple editing looks a little more unnatural and generated by AI than Google, which makes me more like Google editing. Water looks much clearer and subtly in editing Google.

Both are great in editing without cluttered paintings

Never worry about this annoying person in the background

Both editing software programs adhere to when approaching a picture, which seems to be easy to edit as given above, where only two people set forth in the background need to be removed. Apple and Google determined what had to be removed, circled or outlined without me. Both filled the background equally well. So far, the image is quite cluttered, and additional background objects are neatly set out, Apple and Google are excellent in editing.

Apple is still a newcomer in the game

Cleaning was in beta -version until recently

Apple and Google Photos Applications Panel.

Apple recently launched cleaning, and it is available only on some new iPhone and iPad models. On the contrary, Magic Eraser Google was available after the Pixel 6 series, so it continued three more generations. Apple’s, on the contrary, is available only on the iPhone 15 line and up (with the exception of the iPhone 15). Those who do not want to get a lot of money, but want stellar editing photos to be able to choose a more affordable Pixel 6 and adhere to a magic eraser.

Google is still holding the crown

Magic Eraser Google exists longer, giving the company more time to improve its offer. Magic Eraser is doing excellent work to restore the background and editing without cluttered pictures. It is also available for more devices and can be available in the Google Photo application on iOS devices. This is not the most intuitive, and cleaning is probably for sure.

However, now Google is a leader in the game. It will be interesting to see how the iteration of smartphones this year changes this narrative, and if Apple plans to deploy a more updated version of Clean Up, which has a large number of functions.
