Google Messages more widely rolling out dual SIM RCS [U]
Google Messages has been working on dual-SIM RCS since beginning of this yearand support is now spreading more widely in beta.
Update from 01/13/25: To date There is more reports on Dual SIM RCS support is being rolled out in the latest beta version (version 20250112_00_RC00) of Google Messages. There are some reports that it works with the stable version (20241120_00_RC07), as well as dual physical SIM, eSIM + physical SIM, and outside the US.
Original 10/28/24: As of today, Google Messages only allowed RCS to be enabled for one phone number at a time. Dual RCS support allows both to be active at the same time. When you go to Settings > RCS Chats, the status of both is shown as Connected, with checkboxes to disable/enable each SIM card.
After testing in recent months, many more users are seeing this with latest beta version of Google Messages (version 20241018_01_RC00+) in recent days, today there is another implementation. Eat more than A few reports in the US on Google Fi, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. on various phone models, including Samsung. You can have both a physical SIM and an eSIM instead of using other hardware.
However, not all Google Messages users report RCS dual-SIM support. This is a server side deployment, beta version 20241024_01_RC00 will also be released this morning. (Try rebooting your phone to check.)
