
Google Opens Public Developer Beta for Home APIs
This was at Google I/O in 2024 when Google announced Home APIsallowing developers greater access to create “innovative solutions for the home.” The company announced this week during CES that it has opened a public beta for developers on the Android version, with iOS to follow soon.
Google has provided several examples of how companies and developers are using these APIs. Nanoleaf used the Home API to allow customers to use voice commands to turn on the Nanoleaf 4D screen mirroring light bar, and LG used it to integrate Google Home devices directly into their smart home TV system.
