Google Photos is getting ready to roll out its new ‘Quick Edit’ sharing feature

If you want your photos to look better before you share them with friends or family, you can retouch them with one of the many great tools Photo editor app for Android. Manually editing photos can be a bit cumbersome, though, especially if you’re not familiar with all the various knobs available. that’s why Google Photos Offering a variety of one-click photo enhancement tools, the app will soon add a Quick Edit screen to make it even easier to enhance photos before sharing.

Earlier this week, I received a tip from a user named Alex who said they noticed a new sharing screen in the Google Photos app for Android. The new screen is called “Quick Edit,” and he said it appears when he clicks the share button on an individual photo. However, if he selects multiple photos before clicking the share button, the normal share sheet will appear instead of the new Quick Edit screen.

The Quick Edit screen makes it easier to enhance or crop individual photos before sharing. It has an “Enhance” button that appears to apply the same “Enhance” effect that’s available when clicking the “Edit” button on a photo. It also has a crop button that brings up the same cropping UI shown in the regular editor.

Once you’ve finished enhancing or cropping a photo, you can share it by clicking the Share button in the lower right corner, which will open the familiar system share sheet. Here’s a screen recording from our tipster demonstrating this new Quick Edit screen in action:

Our tipster discovered this new “Quick Edit” page on his Pixel 6 Pro, which is running version 7.10.0 of the Google Photos app for Android. We haven’t received any other reports of this feature rolling out, but this is far from the first we’ve heard about it. Actually, Android Authority Similar findings have been published several times before.

In August we successfully presented “Enhance photo option Google Photos from the system share sheet. Nearly two months later, we share evidence that there will be Two additional filters On top of the existing “enhanced” option, although it was later merged into Single “enhanced” toggle. However, the feature’s UI shown in the resources shared by our tipster doesn’t exactly match the UI shown in our previous teardowns, suggesting that Google is still iterating on its UI.

Regardless, it’s clear that Google wants to make it easier for you to enhance your photos before sharing them. We don’t know if the UI seen in the assets our tipster shared with us is final, but since it’s being tested in the wild right now, we probably won’t have to wait too long to find out. Perhaps not coincidentally, our tipster also noticed they had new Album floating toolbar A feature we discovered a few months ago.
