Kaspersky was banned in the United States in September, but that didn’t stop workers at multiple government agencies from continuing to use Kaspersky products. New research from Bitsight shows that Russia-based Antivirus software The company still has a surprising number of clients within the U.S. government.

Kaspersky is no longer allowed to sell or update its antivirus software in the United States, but that has only led to a 58% drop in usage of the product.
Unacceptable national security risk
In other countries, such as the UK, Italy and Germany, warnings have been issued against the products but outright bans have not yet been implemented. Still, usage in Germany dropped by 69%, so this is arguably more effective.
