Hit Apple Sci-Fi Show Silo Is Renewed Through Season 4

2024 is indeed the year that people start to seriously realize the dangers of getting into streaming television. With viewership data obscured or completely hidden, and anchors’ erratic decisions rarely explained, a new favorite show — one that seems to be unanimously popular — can be abruptly canceled. But don’t worry, silo Fans: A brilliant adaptation of Hugh Howey’s novel Officially confirmed Four full seasons.

Hugh Howey’s short story “Wool” was first self-published in 2011 and became a word-of-mouth phenomenon. This ultimately spawned a series of three novels called The Silos, which are the basis for Apple silothe story of a post-apocalyptic society living in giant underground silos. Written by Well-foundedGraham Yost, starring Rebecca Ferguson (dune), David Oyelowo and Tim Robbins, Season 2 is currently releasing weekly on Apple TV+, and damn, is it awesome.

Although the timing may seem a bit awkward given the similarities between the two silois set to fall outIn the post-disaster underground, the two shows play out very differently. Although Amazon’s fall out The adaptation does focus more on bunker life than the games usually do, silo No one had a chance to get out. Anyone who attempts to leave the silo will drop dead shortly after committing the heinous heresy.

The result is utterly convincing, with the complexities of the silo’s hierarchical system colliding with the mysteries behind its walls (and mirrors), all surrounding Ferguson’s Juliet Nichols. She’s a machinist, high-born but humble, unable to escape the consequences of her parents’ actions and unafraid of the sacrilegious rules of owning “old technology” (basically anything with a CPU).

I like it. Having read this short story a long time ago, this show offers the most extraordinary realization of scenes with stunning acting, beautiful directing and the most incredible set design. Given recent trends, I wouldn’t normally be obsessed with such a fantastic sci-fi show!

Science fiction is difficult

It’s been a brutal few years for fans of fantasy and science fiction. Netflix canceled Shadow and Bones, welcome to eden, 1899and Kaoswhile Disney+ has disappeared acolyteand Apple TV+ brings almost nothing that people like Time Bandits A chance to shine, and a chance to kill constellation. Not to mention what do we do in the shadows, superman and lois, Andor, arcane, boysand The Umbrella Academy Everything will work out as expected now or next season. This has become a real problem People just stop watching new streaming shows Because the likelihood of them being canceled is so high, they’re not worth the emotional investment.

So it’s great to know that Apple has updated silonot just Season 3, but Season 4 as well, with the intention of having the show wrap up by then. After all, by then it had run out of books and short stories to adapt.

In Apple’s press release, the company quoted series creator Graham Yost explaining: ” silowe can’t wait to provide fans of the show with an incredibly satisfying conclusion that will unravel the many mysteries and unanswered questions within these silos. Considering this is not a lost or a from– It would be a pain to not be able to get the answers here when those in the know can actually get them. (Or I guess you could read a book.)

Not only does Ferguson do a lot of the heavy lifting on the show through her stunning performance, but she’s also the show’s de facto executive producer. She added in the rather unfortunate press release, “I’ve always been passionate about telling the whole story contained in Hugh Howey’s books, so I’m delighted that audiences around the world have embraced the show with such enthusiasm. I can’t wait to dive into it.” Get to know the thought-provoking stories of the final two seasons, which will bring this dystopian story to a perfect conclusion.

If you have access to Catacombs on Apple TV+, be sure to give silo A watch. Notably, as of last month, Apple’s products are now accessible through Amazon Prime in the US and UK, making it a less mysterious streaming medium.
