Home Chef Review: An Easy Way to Get Cooking
Home cooks have Has been my first choice for a long time Great meal kit For beginner cooks. I first tested this service in 2020, when meal kits exploded in popularity due to the pandemic. After another week of trying it out, I still think this is a great option for anyone who wants to start cooking with a little guidance.
The first thing you’ll notice when you open a Home Chef takeout store is how easy it is to put everything away. Each meal is packaged in its own zippered plastic bag and the protein is sealed in its own packaging. I stuffed the refrigerator door with ingredients for three dinners. When it’s time to try a recipe, I just grab a bag and the corresponding protein. I have a shared refrigerator which is cluttered at the best of times, so I’m glad to be able to grab everything quickly and put it on my counter rather than rummaging through the leftovers trying to find a rogue vegetable Or sauce packets.
What really sets Home Chef apart from many other meal kits is its recipe card, which is the most detailed I’ve ever seen. There is a list of ingredients you should have on the front, as well as a list of items you need to provide. Usually olive oil, salt, pepper, and maybe some aluminum foil. There’s also a list of kitchen supplies you’ll need. It’s not exhaustive – you may still need to grab a measuring cup or cookware, for example – but it’s a good place to start. I really appreciate the “Cook in” section, which provides suggested cooking or freezing dates, which will help you prioritize the dishes that arrive so you don’t run the risk of ingredients spoiling. There’s also a chart that reminds people of the safe internal temperature of the meat, as well as difficulty level and spice level.
for home cooks weekly menu There are filters for preferences and dietary needs, such as carb-focused, calorie-focused, and vegetarian. Meals are organized into categories such as Oven-Ready Meals (meals that come with a tray and are prepared in the oven), Culinary Select Meals (meals with more adventurous ingredients and cooking techniques), Quick Meals ( Meals that take no more than 30 minutes to prepare) ), and so on. There are also optional add-ons and extras like breakfast waffles, dinner rolls or desserts. Some dishes are customizable, allowing you to choose a different protein, double protein, or upgraded protein.
